The Last Supper
For some odd reason my sister believes that every household should have a picture of The Last Supper somewhere in the dinning area, so she went out and bought one - which would be ok if we were Catholic, or even if we went to church at all, maybe even if it wasn’t a two feet by three feet humongous framed picture. My sister is pretty stubborn so when she gets something in her head it’s hard to get her to change her mind, so I knew that no argument would be won - she hung this huge picture of The Last Supper on the wall by the dining room table without a fight from me. Later while eating my three year old niece starts asking about the picture.
“Is that God?” She asks pointing to center of the picture.
“No,” I answer between bites of my dinner. “That’s Jesus.”
“Who is Jesus?” my six year old nephew asks.
“He’s God’s son.” I was glad that my mom pinched me into paying attention when my grandfather stood at the pulpit and gave those fire and brimstone sermons when I was a kid.
My niece stared at the picture for a while before asking, “Why is He wearing a dress?”
“It’s not a dress. It’s a robe.”
“Yeah,” my nephew added, “He wears a robe ‘cause He’s a Jedi.” He looked at me, “Right, Jesus is a Jedi”
I didn’t want to laugh because he was being serious. “No, I don’t think he’s a Jedi, but The Lord is strong with him.” I know, I’m going to Hell.
“Oh I get it,” my nephew said, “He doesn’t have a lightsaber so He can’t be a JedI.”
“Where’s God?” my niece wanted to know.
Before I could answer my nephew replied with, “Duh, who do you think is taking the picture.”
I looked at him and just thought…this whole family is going to Hell.
********
maybe my sister and I can compromise with this:
(I don't know who came up with this so I can't him/her credit for it, but if you know, let me know)
I know, I know - I'm going to Hell for this

You are just wrong man - funny as hell but completely wrong. Thank you for your blogs - they are a riot. I almost fell out of my frickin chair over even pretty girls do it. (I work for a homebuilder and since we don't have any houses to build I don't have anything to do at work but show up and read blogs - but yours is one of the best. Thanks for keeping me from going into a complete zombielike state from boredom.
