Introducing...sick, winy Tony
If you follow me on Twitter, you know I’ve been sick and to be honest with you, I don’t think I’ve ever felt this sick before in my life. The bad thing is that I’m on leave from work, using annual leave and my brother and his family are here, so I feel like missing out on both sides of this. I haven’t really wanted to come to the computer to read much or to write much, but last week before I got sick I had intended to write about the day that my friend asked me to take him to pick up a rental car so he could drive to California to see his son. It shouldn’t have been more than a 45 minute trip, but it just happened that day was the one day since I’ve lived here that we actually got a substantial amount of snow, the trip was over four hours and at the end he still didn’t have a rental car - it was like Harold and Kumar Rent a Car, however my nephew climbed up on the computer and started playing with it. I thought it was cute because he’s only two years old, but as soon as he erased my stuff I didn’t think it was so cute anymore.
I then started to write another post about being sick and how I felt achy and tried, but somewhere in the middle of writing it I fell asleep at the computer and most of the story consisted of stuff that looked like :adl;kajsivoooooooooo ’lkadf a’lkdfake lk; l;slk;jadfsajf;askjf; l askljas ooi;hnlk; al;sdjkfhe’as;lk A”

I didn’t think you guys would want to read page after page of that. I thought that as the days progressed I would feel better. Hell, I even thought that I’d wake up to a Christmas morning miracle and my voice would be normal and my throat would be fine and I’d be able to sing my big Christmas solo at church - sorry that was the chick from The Brady Bunch, not me. I get confused when I’m sick. Right now I actually feel worse than I have before so I’m waiting to go see a doctor at a quick care. I‘m not seeing my regular doc because he‘s really strict on me keeping my weight down. A couple of weeks ago I had a check up with him and had gained four pounds since seeing him last and he was not too thrilled. I told him it was the holidays. He told me not to make excuses that I had gained the weight because I had put the food in my mouth.
Another one of the bad things about being sick at this time is that my friend, the Toughguy is having an after Christmas party and as much as I love his parties I’m not going to be able to make it. I don’t want to pass along my “strep tonsillitis ear infection this is what it feels like to burn in Hell, so I better change my ways” sickness to any of the other party goers.
I think that until I can get this under control, I’m going to turn off the computer. I was going to ask if someone could guest blog but it’s the holiday and I didn’t want to bother anyone, especially the Obi-Wan of bloggers, so what I thought I would do - something I saw another blogger do - is repost some of the earlier stuff that I wrote when the only people reading my blog were the people at work and only because I would run around them all day asking, “did you read my blog, did you read my blog yet? How about now? Did you read my blog?” - Don’t worry I’m only going to repost the stuff that I like and not all the crappy stuff. I figure if you haven’t read it before, then it will all be new to you. Or we can look at it like the Special Editions of the original Star Wars movies that George Lucas re-released
As soon as I feel better I’ll be sure to go back and read every post on the blogs that I normally read and comment on them. I hope you continue to read this blog and comment on the posts. I’ll try to check in when I can. Take care and thanks for the well wishes
~Tony

Hey, I hope you get well soon. Getting sick during holidays suck.
Ummm...what if I sent some christmas cheer your way? Not that we celebrate Christmas in my neck of the woods... but we have plenty of cheer!
Btw, you better keep urself off the computer till you're completely fine. No point in prolonging your illness by staying tired.

Sorry to hear you're still under the weather. Don't you love when kids erase your stuff? It's like a magic gift.
Get better. Until then, I look forward to reading your older stuff. (If you ever need a guest poster, let me know. I'm always happy to help out.)

Thanks for the offer to guest blog - that would be awsome. It would be like having a superstar
My nephew has gotten away with a lot while here - he's just too damn cute.

Hope you're feeling better!! That's really a bummer being sick while you're on leave much less than having the holiday & family around. So much fun to be had & you feel like crap. That snow storm was a real trip & a half. I hung out at work for awhile after ... just to let the traffic "slow" down. I still got caught in it anyway. My sister & brother-in-law even heard about our snow storm in N Carolina.
Hope that you're feeling better!!
